The Early Years Programme at Finland Oman School helps children acquire essential skills through play, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school. Learning is built on a holistic view of the child, fostering social, emotional, physical, and personal development.
A play-based environment nurtures children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn, laying a strong foundation for future academic success.
At Finland Oman School, students in Grades 1–6 follow a homeroom teacher model, creating a stable and nurturing environment for academic and personal growth. As an IB Candidate School, we integrate the Primary Years Programme (PYP) philosophy with Finnish transversal competencies.
Students develop essential transdisciplinary skills: communication, thinking, social, research, and self-management. The curriculum includes languages (English, Arabic, and German from Grade 3), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, PSPE, Arts, Music, ICT, and more—ensuring curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
” The Early Years Programme (EYP) is designed to help children acquire essential skills through play, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school. At Finland Oman School, early childhood education is built on a holistic view of a child, and fosters the social, emotional, physical, and personal development of the child. A play-based environment encourages children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn, laying a foundation for future academic success.
At Finland Oman School, We proudly implement the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), a holistic, inquiry-based curriculum that develops curious, confident, and compassionate learners.
Through inquiry, students explore ideas, ask questions, and make meaningful connections between their learning and the real world. I believe the PYP is one of the best educational programmes because it nurtures critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and global-mindedness, empowering students to take ownership of their learning and develop lifelong skills for an ever-changing world.”
